Congratulations to
Randy Lease
upon being inducted into the
NORWIN
ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
October 10, 2013
There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that,
following his graduation from Norwin in 1969, 2013 Hall of Fame
inductee Randy Lease would have to special order his dress shirts,
with his left sleeve measuring 33inches while his right sleeve measured
some eight inches longer.
In leading the Knights to baseball’s WPIAL playoffs and into
the semi-finals in 1969, Lease pitched in 15 of the team’s
20 games, including taking the mound in two games that were called
due to rain. In that season Lease pitched in 89 of a possible 130
innings.
Lease began the season in true all-star and Hall of Fame fashion, throwing
a no-hitter against Sewickley on Opening Day, striking out 14 in
the process.
He struck out a career-high 16 against Latrobe and fanned a dozen
or more opposing batters five times and struck out 103 opposing
hitters which, atone time, placed him second on Norwin’s single-season
strikeouts list.
After winning 10 consecutive games, Lease suffered his first defeat
of the season at the hands of Bethel Park by a 3-2 score in the
WPIAL semi-finals. His season record was 10-1, while the Knights
overall record was 13-3.

Senior Class Song
For all we know, we may never
meet again.
Before you go, make this moment
sweet again.
We won't say "Good-bye"
until the last minute.
We'll hold out our hand and
our heart will be in it.
For all we know,
this may only be a dream
We come and go like the ripples on a
stream
So love us today, tomorrow was made
for some
Tomorrow may never come, For all we
know.
